A Man Apart

You know a man that has been alone for a while

He doesn’t mind being alone

He doesn’t mind eating by himself

He entertains himself and always stays busy

He’s not out here sharing himself with everybody so that he can feel wanted

He knows His worth

He’s strong but already been through a lot

That’s where he gained his strength

He doesn’t wish the things he went through on anyone

But at the same time, knows he wouldn’t be the man he is not without them

That’s why he knows his worth

Many men would have fallen victim to the battles he had to fight but not him

He persevered

This man has been building himself for years

Nobody is going to tell him who he is or how he should live his life

He knows who he is and where he is going

Anyone who doubts will be proven wrong

Anyone who stands in his way will be discarded.

Happy New 2024!

Reflecting On The Year That Was

Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success. It is a passive way to pinpoint solutions and strategies with the least amount of effort or wasted energy. It’s the opposite of “trying too hard” of forcing and answer. Reflection is more a matter of allowing an answer to unfold right before your eyes, often with little or no effort on your part.

One of the benefits of reflection is that it enables us to get our egos out of the way. In a quiet state of mind we are able to see things clearly, including our own contributions to problems, new ways of doing things, and the ways we get in our own way. Reflection allows us to sense our self-imposed limitations and some of the blind spots in our thinking.

Reflection is simply a matter of getting out of your way. It’s about quieting down your mind so that answers can arise within the quietness.

As we embark on a new year, let us leave behind the baggage’s that were wearing us down and instead purposely focus on the positive reflections which have the potential to spur our lives into greater heights.

7 Techniques to Overcome Laziness

1.Life Purpose

Discover you purpose in life. Find something that makes you wake up each day, aligning with your talents, passions, profession, and contribution to this world. Your purpose fuels you.

2.Continuous Improvement

Focus on small improvements each day instead of trying to do everything at once. Make progress little by little, sometimes involving others.

3.Pomodoro Technique

Improving Your Speaking Skills

When we talk about checking how good someone is at speaking, we look at lots of different things. Let me tell you more about each one:

  1. Pronunciation:
This is about saying words correctly so others can understand you easily. Like, if you say “th” as “s” or “z” instead of “th”, it might be tricky for people to understand. For example, saying “thanks” as “sanks” might make it a bit hard for others to know what you mean.
  2. Fluency:
This is about how smoothly you talk without stopping too much or getting stuck on words. It’s like when you’re telling a story to your friend and you talk without pausing a lot, keeping the conversation going smoothly.
  3. Vocabulary:
This is about using different words and knowing what they mean. For instance, instead of always saying “happy,” you might say “joyful,” “cheerful,” or “delighted” to show different kinds of happiness.
  4. Grammar and Syntax:
This is about using the right rules for making sentences. Like saying “I am going to the park” instead of “I is going to park.” It’s important to get the words in the right order and use the right verb forms.
  5. Content and Relevance:
This is about talking about the right stuff and making sure it all makes sense. If you’re talking about pets and suddenly start talking about outer space, that might not make sense. So, sticking to the topic is super important.
  6. Interaction and Engagement:
This is about talking with others and being part of the conversation. For example, when someone asks you a question, it’s good to answer and ask them something back. It makes the conversation more interesting.
  7. Non-verbal Communication:
This is about using your face, hands, and body to help with what you’re saying. Like when you smile to show you’re happy or nod your head to say “yes.”
  8. Cultural Awareness:
This means knowing about different cultures and how to act or talk respectfully. For instance, some things that are okay to say in one place might not be okay in another place. So, being aware and respectful of those differences is really important.

Remember, practicing speaking helps get better at all these things! Whether it’s talking with friends, reading aloud, or joining activities that involve speaking, practicing regularly can make a big difference in becoming a good speaker.

No One Said It Would Be Easy

Good people will do what they find honorable to do, even if it requires hard work; they’ll do it even if it causes them injury; they’ll do it even if it will bring danger. Again, they won’t do what they find base, even if it brings wealth, pleasure, or power. Nothing will deter them from what is honorable, and nothing will lure them into what is base.

If doing good was easy, everyone would do it. (And if doing bad wasn’t tempting or attractive, nobody would do it.) The same goes for your duty. If anyone could do it, it would have been assigned to someone else. But instead it was assigned to you.

Thankfully, you’re not like everyone. You’re not afraid of doing what is hard. You can resist superficially attractive rewards. Can’t you?
